Derrick Carter: Show Preview

Chicago DJ and producer Derrick Carter has long been one of America's national house music treasures, a man with a firm grasp on how to create (and mix) tunes that stand in stark opposition to genre clichés, with thoughtful instrumentation, propulsive basslines, and sometimes even his own sensual vocals. Among his latest releases is a mix collection for the legendary London nightclub Fabric, which features a number of his dubs and remixes for other artists. As his overseas profile continues to be in demand, he doesn't get a chance to play in San Francisco quite as much as he used to, but he'll make a rare appearance to headline at "JackHammer Disco."

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
