Death Comes Alive

Wednesday, Sep 28 2011
Do you like blood? No, do you really like blood? San Francisco-based theater troupe The Primitive Screwheads do, and they're ready to spew it all over the theater and the audience in ShEvil Dead. We have reason to believe it's fake blood, but still, these, um, Screwheads really let it fly. This theatrical parody, based on both Evil Dead movies as well as Army of Darkness -- starring square-jawed quasi-comedic heart-throb Bruce Campbell -- presents an all-female cast, demons from hell, and tons of flying body parts. And you don't even have to dress up for it. In fact, the Screwheads strongly encourage audience members not to wear nice clothes because of all the (probably fake) blood. So be daring and wear white.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7 p.m. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Oct. 29, 2011

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
