In Father On, presented by first-time collaborators Scott Wells, artistic director of Scott Wells & Dancers, and Sheldon Smith, co-artistic director of Smith/Wymore Disappearing Acts, you can expect to see a highly athletic and surprisingly humorous take on what exactly comes with being a father. The pair use laughter as a platform to address everything from conception to poopy diapers. What Wells typically produces in extreme physicality (he's been known to choreograph for skateboarders and boxers), Smith, a multimedia artist, is sure to match in innovation. An entirely male cast, most of whom are fathers themselves, perform the piece. And with no children in the cast, the work leans to the abstract. What better way to learn about a relationship between a father and child? Because, honestly, you can only flip through so many pictures of other people's babies on Facebook before it puts you to sleep.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
