Cut-and-Paste Pols

Don't think any of the candidates for mayor measure up? Then build your own.

Willie Brown has his head so far up his crown he can't see. Clint Reilly could scare Norman Bates. Tom Ammiano's a freaking lefty, and Frank Jordan, well, he has to be watered twice a week. Then there's Leland Yee, who has good posture, if nothing else.

The filing deadline for this year's mayoral race is upon us. Though the final field isn't set (will Angela Alioto really humiliate herself again?), it's become abundantly clear that San Franciscans will be picking their next leader from a drought-stunted, plague-infested crop of candidates.

So in our continuing commitment to civic betterment, SF Weekly invites you to be part of the solution, as they say, and build your own mayor. We've provided some of the parts, but you're encouraged to add your own. You can hang your custom-designed mayor on the refrigerator, or send it to us. Maybe we'll print a few of them.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
