Subliminal SF will host what could very well be the heaviest four-band bill in recent memory. And although The Hemlock Tavern is a tiny venue, the club's vibe and monthly roster of bands are unrivaled. Sacramento's CHRCH, who released the stupidly amazingUnanswered Hymnscassette on Transylvanian Tapes earlier this year, have been garnering the kind of buzz underground acts would empty their already empty wallets for. If you're into slow, churning metal with haunting female vocals that will ring in your ears for hours, this is one band you don't want to miss. CHRCH was recently served a cease and desist by Steve Kilbey's The Church and were forced to drop a vowel — but the music didn't lose an ounce of power. Come see the band burn off some aggression and play songs like "Dawning" that clock in at 19 minutes. No advance tickets are available so get there early.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
