Cautiously Extreme

Wednesday, Oct 31 2007
Remember when ICER Air first came to town on Fillmore Street and all those monks blew a gasket? No? Then you should consider attending this year's event at AT&T Park. Although it has been stripped of its ability to infuriate (not only did it make monks talk, it also made a bride freak — "Who'd have thought you'd have to check for a snow jump competition? In August? It's just ridiculous," she told the Chronicle), it makes up for that with a slew of diversions. In addition to snow, which might be the only snow you'll see again in this craaazy world, it'll have motocross ramps, a half-pipe, Mos Def, a skatepark, and Talib Kweli. And wakeboarding. And a beer "garten." Now go get a Volcom hat, drink a Red Bull, pretend you care about rodeo flips, and stop blaming Tony Hawk.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
