Cattle Decapitation: Show Preview

Wednesday, Jul 17 2013

That there's a band named Cattle Decapitation on the bill should indicate of the level of musical brutality involved. The Summer Slaughter Tour will be taking no prisoners this Friday, thanks to a lineup that promises a pretty much relentless brain assault. Norma Jean is consistently (and emotively) powerful, the guitarists in Animals As Leaders play so fast it's like they're on fast-forward, and then there's the thoughtful introspection of the Ocean. Even if you can't get there for the entire marathon, keep in mind that the Dillinger Escape Plan is worth the ticket price alone — the band's jaw-dropping technicality and unerring commitment to lead-weight heaviness make it a truly compelling live spectacle.
