Carnaval San Francisco to Host 19 Free Mardi Gras Celebrations

Carnaval San Francisco, the annual two–day festival and grand parade that takes place in San Francisco’s Mission District over Memorial Day weekend, is kicking off its 40th anniversary season of events by hosting 19 free Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras celebrations at different venues in San Francisco on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 6-10 p.m. The venues include Blondie’s Bar, Pop’s Bar, Make-Out Room, Latin American Club, Bissap Baobab, Zoe’s Bar and Restaurant and more. The celebration begins at Cha Cha Cha and proceeds to 18 other locations.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'.
