Budget Rock 10: Show Preview

Wednesday, Oct 19 2011

Now in its 10th year, the 2011 edition of the Bay Area's Budget Rock Festival will be its last — it's fittingly billed as "the final insult." But this garage-rock and punk orgy is saying goodbye with a bang: The lineup includes more than 20 bands over four days, including Nobunny, Personal and the Pizzas, and Hank IV. There are also older bands — the Rip Offs will play their first show in 16 years, and the Lyres headlined the very first Budget Rock a decade ago. For fast, fun, trashy rock, this can't be beat.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
