An electrifying portrait of writer and performer Okwui Okpokwasili and her acclaimed one-woman show titled Bronx Gothic. Rooted in memories of her childhood, Okwui’s one-woman show fuses dance, song, drama and comedy to create a mesmerizing space in which audiences can engage with a story about two 12-year-old black girls coming of age in the 1980s. With intimate vérité access to Okwui – who’s worked with conceptual artists like Ralph Lemon and Julie Taymor – and her audiences off the stage, this film allows for unparalleled insight into the creative process and the complex social issues embodied in it.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
