A person could argue that all San Francisco is an art dump and we just dwell on mounds of materials and resources until an artisan with a wandering eye grabs the driftwood under our butts, puts a tiny clock on it, and sells it. For so many reasons, San Francisco is a rarefied town, and "Art at the Dump" is part of the deal. Artists Christine Lee and David King have been diving into the wreck at Tunnel Avenue since October and now strut their junk, with Lee showing a collection titled “Linear Elements” and King with “Atoms, Satellites, and Other Orbs.” Sounds like a pantload of fun to us, brought together by two artists with a shared interest in reimagining and repurposing materials that have already weathered one divorce and are back on the market. Lee brings a woodworking and furniture design eye to her work, while King explores the rotund, using sewing needles, power cords, plastic bottles, and more.
