Brilliant Colors: Show Preview

Wednesday, Mar 13 2013

San Francisco trio Brilliant Colors cast their shimmering hooks in bedroom melancholy. But their taste in punk is impeccable — and selecting scrappy upstart S.F punk trio Scrapers as openers reflects this. Currently, Scrapers have released only a cassette demo, but the strength of its rudimentary thump — accompanied by vocalist Billy Schmidt's absurdist imagery and cheeky monotone — is whipping local fans into a well-deserved frenzy. Local pastoral psychedelic pop mainstays The Mantles bolster the lineup this Friday. Like a proper cocktail, the evening is two parts sweet tempered by a bitter.
