Best Way to Conquer Your Burning Man FOMO

There's no substitute for Burning Man, but anyone looking for a sampler platter of the festival's unique blend of pageantry can go to Dogpatch every fall instead of the desert. Burning Man's official post-festival "Decompression" party in San Francisco closes down three blocks and brings out all the local color: flame-spouting vehicles, nearly naked hula-hoopers, cutting-edge DJs, conceptual art projects, bizarre sculptures and — of course — gorgeous photos of everything you missed in the desert. That's the other advantage to Decompression: Everybody perfected their acts at Burning Man a few weeks before, so everything usually goes off without a hitch this time around.
