Best S.F. Comics to Watch in 2013

By Dana Sitar

From up-and-coming open-mikers to rookie pros, keep an eye out around town for these fast-rising stand-up stars.

Brendan Lynch
An unassuming facade and unapologetic snark make Lynch a favorite at clubs and showcases around the Bay Area.

David Gborie
Gborie lights up the local open mic scene and deserves to be known for his talents beyond it. He explodes on stage with passion, frightening and igniting a captive audience with laughter.

Matt Rath
Rath's unique stand-up and stellar improv skills have him popping up on every local showcase, improv and sketch show in town.

Anna Seregina
Seregina's quick wit, deep sarcasm, and no-holds-barred jabs at our beloved city make her a favorite at local shows and the Punch Line.

Ryan Cronin
A highly underrated comedian, actor, and producer, Cronin boasts an air of sophistication that belies his decidedly nerdy and quirky humor.

David Studebaker
A Punch Line favorite who started at the unripe age of 19, Studebaker is a quickly rising young performer with comedic insight well beyond his years.

Andrew Holmgren
Holmgren is a young but strong comic who also produces the popular Get Yucked Up! Saturday night showcase. He's paving his own path in the oversaturated market of young stoner comics.

Natasha Muse
A versatile comedian, actress, and producer, Muse brings cerebral wit, sneaky puns, and a sly half-smile to clubs, stages, and buses throughout the Bay Area.

Kaseem Bentley
Bentley has long been a favorite local headliner, and is starting to break out as a star in the scene, with festival appearances and his own new show, Moonlighting SF.

Ben Feldman
With a dry wit that was praised by Robin Williams himself, Feldman brings a cool East Coast charm to Bay Area stages. From a sarcastic rant to a subtle pun, his act is clever, playful, and delightfully provocative.
