Best Local Public Radio Show

Philosophy Talk

Ken Taylor and John Perry, both professors of philosophy at Stanford University, are not afraid to tackle heavy questions like: What is art? How do we deal with moral ambiguity? Or the ever-popular: Is free will an illusion? Hell, they not only tackle said questions, they pummel them, throw them around a little, and often toss a cup of water in their faces to wake them up for another round. Taylor and Perry are the hosts of the locally produced radio show "Philosophy Talk." The earnest name of the program makes it sound like a Saturday Night Live spoof of NPR, but the only Schweddy Balls here might be found during the lively discussion of marriage and monogamy (is there any philosophical basis for favoring one over the other?). Don't miss the "Submit a Conundrum!" link on their Web site, wherein John and Ken promise to "solve all your problems (or at least make them more complicated!)."
