The queer body, however the hell you conceive of it, is a treasure trove of visible and invisible experiences. "Channeling: An Invocation of Spectral Bodies & Queer Spirits" invites the audience to traverse unseen viscera via film and video shorts curated by traveling art enthusiasts Latham Zearfoss and Ethan White (who, incidentally, are also part of our great nation’s rapidly expanding roster of DJs. Catch them on Wednesdays at the Stud.). Work by nine auteurs illuminates the AIDS pandemic, the nuclear family, bodies in transition, and good old-fashioned desire. Newly local performance artist Math Bass contributes a collaboration with Dylan Mira (together they're EMR) called Something’s Gonna Soon, and prolific Portland art generator Vanessa Renwick is also on the bill. Come, all ye Carol Annes: Make like Poltergeist and reach out your hands to the screen, because "Channeling" puts queer consciousness inside the boob tube and shines a light through it all.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
