The queer body, however the hell you conceive of it, is a treasure trove of visible and invisible experiences. "Channeling: An Invocation of Spectral Bodies & Queer Spirits" invites the audience to traverse unseen viscera via film and video shorts curated by traveling art enthusiasts Latham Zearfoss and Ethan White (who, incidentally, are also part of our great nations rapidly expanding roster of DJs. Catch them on Wednesdays at the Stud.). Work by nine auteurs illuminates the AIDS pandemic, the nuclear family, bodies in transition, and good old-fashioned desire. Newly local performance artist Math Bass contributes a collaboration with Dylan Mira (together they're EMR) called Somethings Gonna Soon, and prolific Portland art generator Vanessa Renwick is also on the bill. Come, all ye Carol Annes: Make like Poltergeist and reach out your hands to the screen, because "Channeling" puts queer consciousness inside the boob tube and shines a light through it all.
