APE, the Alternative Press Expo, Returns to San Francisco October 4 & 5! Recommended

The Alternative Press Expo—better and more fondly known as APE—returns to San Francisco on October 4 and 5 in a brand new venue: the Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center. With over 6,100 attendees in 2013, APE once again brought the very best of alternative and small press comics to the Bay Area. Fort Mason Center is a vibrant, arts-oriented destination on San Francisco Bay and also a part of APE's history. APE 2014 features an amazing special guests list, an eclectic schedule of programs various aspects of independent and alternative comics and over 300 exhibitors.   • Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
