Detroit's Platinum Pied Pipers (Robert "Waajeed" O'Bryan and Darnell "Saadiq" Bolden) recently released Abundance, their hauntingly beautiful sophomore album. Where their 2005 debut Triple P had a street-savvy hip-hop style, Abundance leans more toward raw soul, with love songs like "Ain't No Ifs or Maybes" and "American Pimp" that leave the sap behind. The two producers, who work with several guest vocalists, have also ramped up the beat speed on Abundance, making dancing a necessity.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
