Absurdity is on the menu at Green Apple Books On The Park as author Aleksandar Hemon talks about his latest book, The Making of the Zombie Wars. Although the book is filled with various scripts causing confusion, cynicism, and spastic, random bouts of laughter, there is some method to his madness. Hemon — who also wrote the acclaimed The Lazarus Project and has won a Guggenheim Fellowship and MacArthur genius grant — is appearing with Rabih Alameddine, author of the equally lauded An Unnecessary Woman. If you want to be taken on a trip that borders on the insane (see script idea #142, which involves aliens undercover as cabbies), there is no better place to be. Bring some money to buy a signed book: It will be worth something very soon.
Aleksandar Hemon speaks at 7:30 p.m. at Green Apple Books on the Park, 1231 Ninth Ave., S.F. Free; greenapplebooks.com.
