Sunny oranges and hot-day lemonade seem like the definition of summer – so why is winter the big harvest time for citrus? Cruel world of nature, why do you torture us with your weird paradoxes? At the Center for Urban Education About Sustainable Agriculture's Citrus Celebration, philosophical outlooks are welcome but severely challenged by the gigglefest in the Orange Smile Digital Photo Booth. It's hard to stay serious with a big hunk of Valencia wedged in your piehole – ask us how we know. The stars of the show are many and juicy, from little Mandarins to those hulking Pomelos, from clove-scented blood oranges to misunderstood Oro Blancos (they're a grapefruit-Pomelo cross, so don't call them grapefruits.) In their honor, blind taste tests, cooking demonstrations, and chatty farmers put all your sweet and sour quandaries to rest.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
