The co-producers of The Kilbanes’ "Weightless," the hit rock opera-retelling of Ovid’s "Metamorphoses," will present "A Lesson From Aloes" at San Francisco’s Z Below this summer. Written by internationally-acclaimed playwright Athol Fugard, this drama is set in South Africa during apartheid, painting a portrait of loyalty, race, sanity, and survival under an oppressive government. This freshly revived production features regional theatre’s brightest stars, including Broadway actor Victor Talmadge, award-winning producer and actor Wendy vanden Heuvel, and Bay Area favorite Adrian Roberts. It will be directed by Obie Award winner Timothy Near.
