A Fruitful Gathering

Are we urban dwellers out of touch with nature? And if so, does it matter? This is broad topic addressed by the social art exhibit The Gatherers: Greening Our Urban Spheres. Through public social spaces, food workshops, panel discussions, and walking tours, the exhibit tries to glean how we interact with the urban environment, how we take food production for granted, and how we can incorporate nature back into our gray, cement habitat. Tonight's opening night party lays the groundwork and sows the seeds; what flowers is up to you and the artists.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
