    Best Hangover Breakfast

Some people party until the break of dawn. Others party at the break of dawn. The people who do both go to Lime. Head there on weekends around 10:30 a.m.; you can join the party or just watch the city's…

    Best Brunch

There's a festive, special-occasion something or other surrounding brunch that separates it from other, lesser repasts, and the Nob Hill Grille prepares a weekend brunch worthy of its celebratory status. The place itself is cozy and friendly, with big sunny…

    Everybody poops at Lime

They say that beauty is only skin deep, which is indeed true. Case in point: Joan Crawford, the original "hot mess." I find her a very sympathetic character, despite being an abusive nympho alcoholic with major control issues. In a…

    Drink of the Week: Buli-Buli!

If you’re cheap, broke or a combination of the two, here’s a quick and easy way to Rachael Ray some crappy beer. I was first introduced to this drink at a place called Primo Patio near At&t Park. The…

Best Brunch Where You Might Also Get Laid

It's not just the Castro location — ripe with horny and hungover twentysomethings looking for protein from a variety of sources — or the salmon deviled eggs that are so subtle yet tasty that you will want to make love…

    Best Cheesecake Lollipops

This small plates restaurant in the Castro District has a weird, 1950s diner-meets-futuristic Barney on acid vibe, but don't let that scare you away. Saddle up to the bar (which has embedded television screens) and start ordering. The dinner menu…

    Irony Overload

Warm pink light spills onto the sidewalk from Lime, a self-described restaurant-lounge (I would reverse the order) that opened on Market Street in midsummer. The aggressively retro-moderne décor is all pink and blinding white and chrome -- not a whisper…

  • clipping at Brava Theater Sept. 11
Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
