    Best Fresh Seafood

Best Fresh Seafood You can't get any fresher seafood than the crustaceans and fish pulled from the big tanks in the downstairs dining room at R&G, where the creatures swim around as décor until they're plucked out for your delectation.…

    Spit or Swallow?

Dear Social Grace, At a restaurant dinner with family and friends, my girlfriend enjoyed the taste but not the texture of her mussels. She didn't want to swallow what was not completely chewable, nor did she want to stack it…

    Best Vietnamese Restaurant

There aren't many Vietnamese restaurants as elegant as Ana Mandara. Le Colonial, its closest competitor, has the edge when it comes to ambient luxury, but it doesn't have Ana Mandara's dazzling sense of French Imperial retro-whimsy: the curved staircases, the…

    Best Place to Slurp Oysters

Zuni is all about oysters -- well, and roasted chicken and people-watching, too -- the shucking of oysters, the slurping of them, the absolute Zen of them. The venue provides the classic setting in which to consume a platter: The…

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
