17th Annual Outsound New Music Summit - A night of Stone Club

When: Fri., July 27, 7:30 p.m. 2018
Price: $18
A night of exploratory rock and psychedelia with CDP and Dire Wolves. CDP weave together the diverse strands of Mwandishi-era Herbie Hancock, Soft Machine Six and Seven, and Sun Ra’s late 1970s studio recordings. Dire Wolves puts forth a group sound of ecstatic improvisation with each member documenting coordinate points in the higher dimensions of cosmic free-rock. These are exploratory journeys, transportive experiments into nebulous regions of sound often instantly forming into spontaneous compositions. The focus is more about feeling rather than any specific approach to playing. Recommended to the open minds that celebrate such sounds as the punk-hippie crossover

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
