Unstoppable Restaurateur Adriano Paganini at It Again
Earlier this month, we learned that Adriano Paganini was going to open a restaurant inside the former Betelnut (2030 Union), and now Hoodline reports that he's also applying for a beer-and-wine license for a project named The Bird that will go into the space once occupied by The Melt at 115 New Montgomery. (Paganini also runs Belga, Beretta, Delarosa, El Techo, Lolinda, Starbelly, Super Duper, and Uno Dos Tacos.)

Ninebark Closing at the Peak of Tourist Season for an Unknown Length of Time
This is rather mysterious. Napa's 9-month-old smash Ninebark (813 Main) will temporarily close as of this Sunday, July 31. Inside Scoop broke the news but we don't know the reason for the closure or its duration.

Scotland Yard Closes Its Kitchen, Goes Four-Nights-a-Week as a Wine Bar

Eater reports that under Brian Cassanego, Scotland Yard (3232 Scott) has opted out of the food side of the equation and moved to become a Thursday-Sunday wine bar only. This is a shame, because those Coca-Cola ribs were amazing, but the space always felt mildly schizophrenic to me. (Ribs, however delicious, probably aren't what lure people out to wine bars in the Marina.) Apparently, pressure built along exactly that fault line.

Elixir Has Two Special Cocktails for the Olympics (One Comes With a Flag!)
Elixir (3200 16th St.) has four TVs and they will be tuned to Team America throughout the Summer Olympic Games, which begin Thursday, Aug. 4. There will be drinks specials during the Opening Ceremony and during the final events (Aug. 18-21), plus daily happy hour specials and two cocktails, the The Olympic Torch (Yaguara Cachaça, watermelon juice, yuzu juice, lime juice, and clover honey syrup with a honey-powdered rim) and the slightly more nationalistic Team America USA (F**k Yeah), made with Buffalo Trace Elixir Private Select Bourbon, Cannella cinnamon liqueur, orgeat, muddled strawberry, lemon juice, and Scrappy’s Cardamom bitters, and served with a wee little American flag.

Good Eggs Gets Some Funding
The Business Times is reporting that a $15 million investment may help the struggling, five-year-old startup thrive.

John Birdall On Salad
"Sometimes simple things are not really simple. Simple salads are never so." So says two-time James Beard Journalism Award winner (and SFoodie editor) John Birdsall in this delightful Edible San Francisco essay about the joys of green salads, which includes a stop at Greens (the restaurant) and involves a "one-time Shakespearean actor with cheekbones like hillocks and thick combed-back hair."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
