Plus Shiba Ramen and Fieldwork Brewing throw — you guessed it — a beer-and-ramen party, the Hyatt at SFO opens a restaurant that looks to make layovers and cancellations much more pleasant, and Recchiuti Confections honors Creativity Explored via the medium of truffles.

Outside Lands' Summer Pairings Series Returns All Month
For the sixth year running, Outside Lands has brought back its Summer Pairings Series all over the Bay Area in anticipation of the three-day music-food-and-comedy festival in Golden Gate Park, Aug. 5-7. There are five in all, and overall, they're delightfully beer-heavy:

1. A Cheese Lands preview at Long Meadow Ranch in (738 Main St., St. Helena; daily through July 31).
2. A Ramen & Beer Party at Itani Ramen (1736 Telegraph, July 24), with Fort Point Beer Co. providing the brew (July 24).
3. An all-day Smoke Out at 4505 Burgers with Harmonic Brewing and tons of music from OSL acts (705 Divisadero, July 25).
4. Bluegrass, BBQ, and Brews at Southpaw BBQ in partnership with Anchor Brewing and bluegrass band The Bow Ties (2170 Mission, July 26).
5. Pinot, Pizza, and Funk at Bluxome Street Winery, with Mozzeria's 25-foot restored cable car and its wood-fired oven as the guests of honor alongside funk band Tortoise and the Pimps (53 Bluxome, July 30).

Shiba Ramen and Fieldwork Brewing Co. Hook Up July 16
And speaking of ramen-and-beer pairings, Shiba Ramen in Emeryville's Public Market and Fieldwork Brewing Co. will join forces on Saturday, July 16 from 2-5 p.m. to offer noodles, beer flights, and other fine ideas, such as an okonomiyaki with three five-ounce pours for $12-$13.

Stones Throw's "Eat Like a Chef, Drink Like a Somm" Series Pulls in Top Talent
On the last Mondays of the month in July, August, and September, Stones Throw (1896 Hyde) will bring back Eat Like a Chef, Drink Like a Somm, a benefit for Old Skool Cafe that brings top S.F. culinary talent into the kitchen with Chef Jason Halverson. It's $60 per person for a five-course prix fixe, with an optional $50 wine pairing (and a la carte beverages). The lineup is Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski of The Progress and State Bird Provisions (July 25), Pim Techamuanvivit and Narciso Salvador of Kin Khao (August 29) and David Nayfeld and Angela Pinkerton of Mission D&A and the forthcoming Che Fico (Sept. 26).

Foreign Cinema Taps Anthony Lynch as a Bastille Day Guest Somm
Many Bastille Day specials involve mandatory berets and a stale croissant dyed like Le Tricoleur, but Foreign Cinema (2534 Mission) got creative. The invited Anthony Lynch of Berkeley's Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant to play guest somm for the evening of July 14, featuring French wine from the company's holdings and hanging out with guests during regular dinner service, 5:30-11 p.m.

Eatsa Will Open in Berkeley This Summer

As the automated quinoa bowl emporium announced it would last year, Eatsa has kicked into expansion mode by opening up a second location in the Rincon Center and, later this summer, a third one in Berkeley, in the former Crepes a Go Go space at 2125 University, conveniently close to UC Berkeley. (Nothing dates a name like the suffix "-a go go," does it? It was like the "-landia" of a different time.)

Hyatt Regency SFO Opens a New Bistro and Bar, 3SIXTY
The name reads a little like a promotional code, but the Hyatt at SFO has debuted a new restaurant called 3SIXTY that has lots of air travel-themed cocktails, including the Delayed Connection (vodka, grapefruit, soda, rosemary simple syrup) and the Turbulence (cognac, Benedictine, lemon juice, and Champagne). It opens at 6 a.m. and the kitchen stays going until midnight, with the bar closing at 1:30, and the menu looks quite contemporary and well thought-out. (Hello, clams and linguiça.)

Recchiuti Confections' "Fun. Art. Yum." Honors Creativity Explored

To support Creativity Explored, the arts center for disabled Californians, Recchiuti Confections will put out a $27 special-edition, nine-piece truffle collection featuring Laron Bickerstaff's illustrations of the American Sign Language words for "fun," "art," and "yum" on Burnt Caramel truffles. They'll be available July 12 at Recchiuti retail locations.

Izzy's Steak & Chop House Opens in Downtown Oakland
Where Casa Cubana once dwelt, the third location of Izzy's Steak & Chop House (59 Grand Ave.) now reigns, serving classics like potatoes au gratin, pork chops, creamed spinach, and (of course) New York strip steaks — the cuisine favored by the eponymous teenage Portuguese immigrant who wore a suit like a total badass and rose through the ranks of the Barbary Coast to become pals with playwrights like William Saroyan. As with the revived Original Joe's of Westlake, we fully endorse this back-to-the-old-school movement. (Or anything with "chop" or "chops" in the name, really.)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
