Plus a 40-year-old KFC is going to smooch a wrecking ball, the fate of CBGB is ignominious to the nth degree, and treated graywater gets the all-clear for use on plants.

Marla Bakery Opens in the Ferry Building
If you don't live in or around the Outer Richmond, it can be challenging to make Marla Bakery a regular part of your kouign amann with candied calamansi diet. That's about to get a whole lot easier because as of 11:30 a.m. today, Marla has an outpost in the Ferry Building's arcade. It'll be serving breakfast and lunch, with panettone and stollen for what remains of the holiday season, along with the daily lunchbox (a sandwich, two sides, and a cookie), plus Wrecking Ball Coffee.

Rice Paper Scissors' New Year's Brunch

Valerie Luu and Katie Kwan have vacated Brick and Mortar, so for Rice Paper Scissors' annual New Year's Day brunch, the duo is moving to PizzaHacker in Bernal Heights. Look for red bean toast, smoked plum tea, a breakfast banh mi (with two fried eggs and a choice of Vietnamese ham or mock ham), and mimosas for the first hangover of 2016.

New Year's Pancake Brunch at Scotland Yard

Alternately, if your stomach wakes up on New Year's Day with a craving for flapjacks, Scotland Yard in the Marina will have salted caramel pancakes with bacon, along with the usual chicken and waffle bites, carrot cake french toast, and egg muffin sandwich.

Marina KFC/Taco Bell Approved for Demolition
According to Socketsite, the KFC/Taco Bell at 2101 Lombard is going to become — wait for it — condos! (The article goes on to note that the KFC was not considered historic in spite of dating all the way back to the 1970s.) They'd better raze that puppy to the ground or they will never get the smell out.

CBGB Reopens at Newark Airport

The CBGB movie has a spectacularly terrible 8 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and as if that weren't punishment enough for the storied punk club, it's now been turned into a restaurant at Newark Liberty International Airport called CBGB Lab because, according to Gothamist, some holding company owns the trademarks. A pic of the menu is pretty tough to read but I see a wedge salad on there. A wedge salad!

Using Graywater is Fine on Plants
According to Modern Farmer, the use of treated graywater on plants that you will eventually eat is perfectly okay. An Israeli study determined that treated graywater caused fewer illnesses than the use of ordinary tap water. This is a good step for California's eventual transition away from an "ewww, pee!" mentality and toward a sensible rethinking of water use in agriculture.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
