Season 6 of
Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown debuts this Sunday, Oct. 19 at 9 p.m. and in it, Bourdain went somewhere that's very well-known indeed to most Bay Area foodies:
Juhu Beach Club.

In honor of the reigning smartass of food's surprise visit, JBC's Chef, Preeti Mistry, has put together a special $70, five-course tasting menu for two that includes everything Bourdain ate during his visit. It includes the Bhel Salad (persimmon, pomegranate, purple potato pickled onion, puffed rice, peanuts and housemade chutneys), Manchurian cauliflower, chili paneer, lamb kofta, and a Methi chicken leg made with fenugreek and a tomato butter sauce. (In case you're wondering, Bourdain drank a Linden Street Burning Oak Black Lager.)
The menu will be available alongside the regular full dinner menu as of next Tuesday, Oct. 20, and run through the end of the year.
"His visit was a big deal to us, and we're genuinely thrilled to get his stamp of approval," Mistri said.
Elsewhere in the episode, Bourdain goes through some martial arts training with with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor Kurt Osiander, eats at the original Trader Vic’s with author Sean Wilsey (
Oh the Glory of it All), and checks out Miss Ollie’s with none other than Black Panther Party founder Bobby Seale. That's pretty much the coolest possible itinerary, even for a guy who's been to Myanmar, Madagascar, and the Mississippi Delta.
