A Warriors Cocktail at the St. Regis, Just in Time for Their Glorious Victory

Posted By on Mon, Jun 15, 2015 at 4:00 PM

The Warriors are going to win tomorrow, right? Whether they go on to a glorious victory then over Cleveland or require a seventh game to do it, the St. Regis Hotel has come up with a blue-and-yellow cocktail befitting the team's colors: The Splash Brothers. When you're not yelling at Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on TV, you can hang out in the St. Regis' lobby bar and sip one.

At $15.50, it's a fancy elixir that makes the most of an blue Curaçao, an underappreciated, borderline-novelty liqueur, but it's still a fraction of the Lobby Bar's $125 "World's Greatest Martini" (made with Nolet's Reserve Gin), which you should considering ordering when the 49ers and the Giants win, too. And remember, since alcohol is as good for consolation as it is for celebration, this is a multi-purpose beverage. Never hurts to prepare for any eventuality. Just sayin'.

The Splash Brothers

Yield: one cocktail

1 oz of fresh squeeze lemon juice

1 oz of passion fruit purée

1.5 oz of limoncello

1.5 oz of Hangar One Buddha’s Hand Vodka

5 oz of blue Curaçao

1 orange twist

In a shaker, mix the fresh squeeze lemon juice, the passion fruit purée, the limoncello and the Hangar One Buddha’s Hand Vodka. Fill with ice and shake for approximately 15 seconds, then double strain into a chilled champagne coupe.

Carefully pour the blue Curaçao very slowly against the side of the champagne coupe to avoid mixing it with the rest of the liquid. It will settle into the bottom of the glass. Garnish with the orange twist.

The St. Regis, 125 Third St., 415-284-4000.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
