Who Wants an Erotic Dinner Party With Naked Sushi?

Posted By on Mon, Apr 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM

If Fellini’s Satyricon is your idea of a good movie to watch while eating, RavishSF’s Erotic Underground Dinner Series might be a good alternative to going out for tacos. The sensuous (and gluten-free) supper returns to Soma’s Drake Lounge Saturday, May 9 for a seven-course meal centered on Nyotaimori, the art of “naked sushi,” where a human being lying perfectly still serves as the platter.

Just to give an indication of the decadence threshold, the “foreplay” course is a kimchi oyster shot with bacon jam, followed by chili shrimp chips topped with an uni custard made with duck egg and black truffle. Many of the other six courses are even cheekier, with endive “E-cups,” “Ribbed for Her Pleasure” short ribs with bull blood beats, an “InterCourse Surprise” and, of course, a profiterole happy ending. Between courses, there will be burlesque, games, and other adult entertainments.

Boucherie Meats’ Peter Jackson, and Lawrence Lee of Hayahon SF, Streetfood Dojo and Drake Lounge itself are the collaborators behind the plated courses, while Mark Hayashida of Hayahon SF and Takoba Sushi Bar is handling the Nyotaimori course.

To be clear, while this meal is a highly eroticized experience, diners themselves will not be nude. While it’s perfectly civilized to eat a midnight snack over the sink in your birthday suit, this is meant to enhance the meal, and watching naked people chew and swallow doesn’t necessarily do it for everybody. So dress sexy as all hell and maker your partner do the same! The full list of rules and etiquette will be made available upon purchasing tickets, but suffice it to say that you’re encouraged to play with your food, and by that, they don’t mean building a mashed potato town.

And when you call your mother the next morning to wish her a happy Mother’s Day, be sure to have a Saturday night alibi ready.

RavishSF's Erotic Underground Dinner, Saturday, May 9, 6 p.m., at Drake Lounge, 508 Fourth St., 999-4291.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
