Dining in the Dark: Blind Cafe Offers Good Food Peppered With Personal Growth

The Blind Cafe is a dining experience unlike any other, it's a combination of performance art and dinner — in the dark. And it's coming to San Francisco. 

Based in Boulder, Colorado, The Blind Cafe operates as a non-profit under the auspices of the Boulder County Arts Council. The Cafe's site states that it offers "unique and inspiring social change events nationwide, all held in complete darkness and facilitated by legally blind keynote speakers and facilitators."

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
