Earlier this week we mentioned how Lagunitas was suing Sierra Nevada and then dropped the claim, then we mentioned how Kendall-Jackson was suing a brewery, and then there was another brewery lawsuit — but thankfully, this one has too been settled. City Steam Brewing, a Connecticut brewery, will change their beer-bottle labels from "City Steam" to "Citysteam," after a lawsuit filed by San Francisco's very own Anchor Brewing Company. (Courant)

Another Day, Another Seemingly Ridiculous Brewery Squabble

Earlier this week, you may recall that Lagunitas filed a lawsuit against Sierra-Nevada ostensibly for copyright infringement on the kerned letters "IPA" on a label. A day later, Lagunitas founder Tony Magee announced that the brewery was dropping the suit. 

But boozemakers seem mighty litigious these days. Now Kendall-Jackson winery has sent a cease and desist to owners of the small Cambria Beer Company on the North Coast for having the gall to name their brewery after the town where they live  — a name that the winemaking giant has trademarked.

Your chances of getting that nasty flu strain are high, even if you nabbed a flu shot as a preventative measure. Hot liquids are a must as soon as you first feel that snotty sniffle or tickle at the back of your throat. Herbal tea and chicken soup may make you feel better, but don’t count out the power of probiotic and fizzy drinks (high brow) and even Emergen C (every brow / low brow).

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
