The Week in Vegan: Health and Happiness in the New Year

Posted By on Mon, Jan 5, 2015 at 11:22 AM

New year, new you? If you want to make some changes to your lifestyle, The Vegan RD is offering healthy eating tips for every day of this month. My favorite so far? Eat more beans. (If you wash them real well they will not give you gas. I promise!)

Speaking of health, Veganuary is here and it's the perfect opportunity for you to go vegan in a safe and comfortable way. Check out what you can do to start living cruelty-free today. I swear it's not just corn and tofu. Please trust me on this.

I don't want to freak you out, but vegan Spam might be a reality and it may also be the greatest day humanity has ever known. Are you freaking out? OK, I'm freaking out a little.

Cornelia Guest has launched a line of gorgeous vegan jackets that are so chic (autocorrect just turned that into "cheap" for a second) no one will even miss the animal hides that often go into the making of such things.

You can still buy adorable Vegansaurus t-shirts for everyone who you missed on your Christmas list. But it all ends today!

I don't want you to freak out, part deux: White Castle is now selling veggie burgers across the country. I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a roadtrip.

It's the Monday after New Year's and you're back at work. Is this how you feel right now? Don't worry! The weekend will return!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
