If you're interested in local beer, there's no better event than SF Beer Week's opening gala. The February party features dozens upon dozens of local breweries pouring their latest and greatest brews — you can taste to your heart's desire, spot trends, check out what's going on with your favorites, and more. Russian River Brewing's famed Pliny the Younger is usually there as well.

SF Beer Week organizer Brian Stechschulte reported on Twitter yesterday that tickets to the gala are 40 percent sold out already, so get on that. Maybe a nice present for the beer enthusiast in your life?

And for those who don't want to drop the $75 on one event, there will be plenty of other stuff to do. Check out the newly released schedule on SF Beer Week's website.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
