San Francisco Shares its Favorite Comfort Foods in This Video for our Food Issue

For this year's Food Issue, which hits the streets Wednesday, we decided to explore the meaning of comfort food. You'll find essays by nine local writers about Bay Area dishes that helped them through hard times, bad days, hangovers, and other situations where they reached to food to make them feel better. Throughout the week on the blog we'll also be exploring other ideas of comfort food through the eyes of San Franciscans.

To whet your appetite, filmmaker Miles Sager made a short film asking the citizens of S.F. which foods they turn to when they're seeking comfort:

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage.
