Emily Deschanel (the best Deschanel, in my opinion) is hosting a
vegan birthday party for her son, who she says is "99 percent vegan." Her son doesn't yet have a pet of his own (guinea pigs are the best!), but Deschanel has been taking him to
Farm Sanctuary to hang out with the animals. They're going to eat tacos at his party. The Deschanels, not the animals.
Big farm and agriculture are
not pleased that more and more schools are adopting Meatless Mondays. You know what, though? That's ok. They have every right to be upset considering that more and more schools (especially in the Bay Area) are taking part in the awareness campaign. Listen, I've been to public school. I will take Meatless Monday over Mystery Meat and Crying Thursday any day of the week.
Prague is the new vegan vacation destination. Well, at least if you believe this column by Jane Velez-Mitchell wrote for CNN. But she's holding potato towers in the headline picture, so yeah, I'll believe it. Prague: Not just a beautiful city, but a haven for vegans who love carbs.
Vegan dishes, long mocked on cooking competition shows, got a starring spot this week. Who would have guessed that
Rob Zombie was vegan (have you seen his movies?) and would demand that both contestants on
Top Chef Duels make him a delicious vegan meal. Good on Zombie for keeping all the sacrifices to the movies. If he can eat vegan, anyone can.
Here are 19 delicious vegan
cupcake recipes that HuffPo swears Bill Clinton would enjoy. I don't know about the former president, but you and I would probably sure enjoy them.
There is now a
Veggie Grill in Corte Madera. This is proof that heaven exists.
It's Monday. Start the week like these ferrets, who are losing it over a box of packing peanuts. Find something good to surprise yourself with today! (And tomorrow.) (You're good after that.)
