Fans of sour and bitter beer — which sound pretty unappealing on paper but are actually quite delicious IRL — will be interested in this event happening at Oakland's The Trappist on Saturday. Eight breweries (Sante Adairius Rustic Ales, The Rare Barrel, Craftsman, Tahoe Mountain, Almanac, Woodfour, Drakes, and Mraz Brewing) will each be pouring a sour and bitter beer from their collection.

These unusual brews will be paired with a sour and bitter bite from six restaurants (Homestead, Perdition Smokehouse, Ramen Shop, Tamarindo, Miss Ollie's, and Abura-Ya), making 12 bites total, which should ensure that you can drink plenty of delicious beer without going to the dark side.

Sour/Bitter Fest 2014
Where: The Trappist parking lot, just behind the patio. 460 Eighth St., Oakland.
When: Saturday, Sept. 6, 2-5 p.m.
Cost: $65.16; tickets available on Eventbrite

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
