Three Bay Area restaurants are in the running for Bon Appetit's 10 Best New Restaurants in America.

Olema's Sir and Star and S.F.'s Tosca Cafe and Kin Khao could be some of the 10 best new restaurants in America, according to Bon Appetit, but we'll have to wait until Aug. 19 to find out.

Kin Khao, which translates from Thai to "Let's eat," opened up in March and has been feeding locals curries, noodles, chicken wings, and more since.

Tosca itself has been open since the 1920's and hasn't served food since 1953 until last October when it unveiled its open kitchen. The establishment has played host to the likes of Johnny Depp and Sean Penn, and most recently Beyonce and Jay-Z.

Sir and Star placed 11th in GQ's 25 best new restaurants in the country earlier this year, making the restaurant the only Bay Area eatery to make that list.

Of the 50 nominees, five are in L.A., four in New York City and Portland, and seven hailing from the entire state of Texas.

Saison and Rich Table made the nominee list last year with Saison winning the number two slot. In 2012, State Bird Provisions flew its way to the top of the list, leaving behind AQ .

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
