Not content to merely offer an excellent collection of food, beer, and wine from local producers, the folks at Outside Lands have added cocktails curated by local bartenders.

Located near the GatroMagic concept, where chefs and dancers/musicians/entertainers collide on stage for supercharged cooking demos, the bar will feature drinks from eight different Bay Area headliners: 1760, 15 Romolo, Alembic, Alta CA, Bloodhound, Hotsy Totsy, Local Edition, and The Homestead.

Some bars will feature drinks off their current menus, but others like Local Edition have created brand new ones. “We're really a bourbon-heavy bar and there were already a bunch of bourbon cocktails being served by other bars participating in the event,” says Local Edition barman Robert Baker.

“We opted to create a cocktail specifically for Outside Lands, which will be loosely based on a classic Tiki cocktail, the Rum Swizzle. It's definitely not our house style, but I've always believed the art of drinking well is largely about drinking appropriately for one's setting.”

Local Edition's Kashmir Swizzle is also a play on a mango lassi, combining demerara rum and housemade falernum (a Caribbean style lime syrup accented with ginger and cloves) with mango and kefir. We managed to get the whole menu, for your approval down below.

Saké and Cider
If you’re not into beer (check out my previous guide), wine, or cocktails, the event will also feature a selection of ciders from Ace, Strongbow, and Sonoma Cider available at Beer Lands. In Wine Lands, the Momokawa Organic Junmai Ginjo and G Joy Genshu sake will be available from SakéOne, the Oregon craft sake producer and importer, will be available. They will debut brand new premium grade canned Junmai sake called KIBO made by Suisen Shuzo, a saké brewery located in the Iwate Prefecture on Japan’s Northeastern coast that was devastated by the Tōhoku Earthquake in 2011.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
