Outside Lands Announces Summer Pairing Series Lineup

The 7th annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is set to rock Golden Gate Park this August. But there's no reason to wait until then to get your fill of all the frivolity it has to offer. OSL announced today the schedule and lineup of its Summer Pairing Series, uniting some of the Bay Area's most vibrant flavors with local artists and venues.

The Food Network's Tom Pizzica Brings Pork-Belly Burgers to SoMa

Western SOMA is really taking off. In a corner spot on Howard Street that used to house a forgettable taqueria comes the brick-and-mortar for Big Chef Tom's Belly Burgers, a somewhat desperately needed establishment a solid mile from any Super Duper or Umami Burger. The Big Chef Tom in question is Tom Pizzica of the Food Network, a gregarious soul if ever there was one, and who seemingly does everything Guy Fieri should avoid doing.

Ramen Street to Take Over Japantown in July

In part of the celebration of Japanese popular culture, J-Pop Summit will include a Pop Gourmet Food Festival for the second time.

The fest, split into five areas, will host a sake tasting ($10), food trucks, other snacks and beverages, and the most highlighted event, Ramen Street.

The race to find the best summer drink is over before it even began. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to meet the NASCAR Spritz.

The kicky blend of light beer, Aperol, and a lime twist comes to our city via Chad Arnholt, bartender at Trick Dog and co-founder of beverage consulting company Tin Roof. It's all you could ask out of a summer beverage: light and refreshing enough to drink all day long, with the Aperol and lime giving the beer some nice tartness and complexity. It's become my go-to afternoon sipper.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
