Downtown Berkeley's new burger joint Eureka! brings a variety of locally sourced American dishes, an impressive whiskey collection, and beers brewed here in the Bay Area. After a hearty (and boozy) meal that'll make you feel good about yourself, indulge in the Goldengate Butterscotch Pudding for dessert.

Eureka! is located only a stone's throw from the Bart station on Berkeley's buzzing Shattuck Avenue. The restaurant's first Bay Area location opened last October, joining a chain of Eureka! branches scattered on the West Coast. Joining a cluster of newly opened restaurant-bars in Downtown Berkeley, Eureka! is a place to spend an affordable evening with friends, coworkers or a casual date.

The Goldengate Butterscotch Pudding is the perfect dessert to share. The pudding is a creamy blend of sweet butterscotch with a pleasant surprise of flaky sea salt, topped with a generous dollop of whipping cream drizzled in caramel sauce and garnished with a sprig of mint leaf.

Although the taste is overwhelmingly sweet, it's a succulent way to end a meal of vegetarian fed beef burgers. The consistency is what you'd want from a pudding -- neither runny nor solid, but smooth on the tongue. You'll be racing to the ramekin finish.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
