Another year, another Beer Week, another release of Russian River's celebrated rare triple IPA, Pliny the Younger. The ephemeral spring beer is set to be released Feb. 7-17, and the eagle eyes at Inside Scoop have spotted a whole new page of rules and regulations for the annual Pliny crush at the Santa Rosa brewery. E.g. during the potential 8-hour wait to get a seat in the 135-person-capacity pub to taste it, do not smoke, do not drink, and do not cut in line. Also, you just have to drink it there -- no growlers or bottles.

Good news everyone. A spokesman for Srirarcha manufacturer Huy Foods has confirmed that the company plans to start shipments of the beloved fiery red sauce by the end of the month. As you may remember, first the Irwindale plant was shut down because it was letting off noxious fumes; then the California Department of Health stopped production for 30 days to make sure there weren't any microorganisms in the uncooked sauce. In response, the Internet had a collective freakout about where they'd get their hookup if the plant were shut down permanently.
Anchoring a sliver of a sun-drenched corner space in the Mission, it's hard to figure out how Linea Caffe has enough space to fit the espresso machine and food prep area that produce the café's unlikely trio of specialties: coffee/espresso, Belgian waffles (savory and sweet), and salads. It's such a small-scale, but brilliant niche carved out by Mission Chinese's Anthony Myint, who's partnered with the founder of the now departed Ecco Caffe, Andrew Barnett.
