Chocolates are nice, but whisky is better. Give yourself or a friend a good reason to drink as soon as you rise by counting down the days to Christmas like an adult.

Leave it to the creators of the liquid gold to bring the world the 2013 Whisky Advent Calendar. The item was created by Master of Malt, a popular spirits distributor in the UK, where behind each of the 24 pop-up "windows" is a 3-cl dram of high-end Irish whiskies, japanese malts, and single-barrel Kentucky bourbons and scotches that have been aged for up to 40 years (listed below).

The calendar will cost you a whopping $240, but consider that you're getting a samples of booze that would cost thousands of dollars in bottles. It also comes in a $400 Premium edition, featuring rarer, older whiskeys. There's even one for gin lovers.

So hand chocolate over to the children and be sure to put this gem on your calendar.

If you're not up for surprises, a list of what you'll get:

Yamazaki 12 Year Old - Grants 25 Year Old - Evan Williams Single Barrel - Mackmyra Brukswhisky - Bowmore 15 Year Old - Scapa 16 Year Old - Glencadam 21 Year Old - Blue Hanger 9th Release - Tomintoul 14 Year Old - Dalmore 18 Year Old - Auchentoshan Three Wood - Chivas Regal 18 Year Old - Yellow Spot 12 Year Old - Talisker Port Ruighe - Nikka Whisky From The Barrel - Balcones Texas Single Malt - Glen Garioch 12 Year Old - Johnnie Walker Platinum - Balvenie 17 Year Old Doublewood - Smooth Ambler 7 Year Old Bourbon - Glenfiddich 15 Year Old Distillery Edition - Balvenie Carribean Cask - The Glenlivet Nadurra - Glenfarclas 40 Year Old

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
