Drink Beer and Fight Cancer at Breastfest

Posted By on Wed, Jul 10, 2013 at 9:10 AM

This weekend you have a unique opportunity to help eliminate cancer and your sobriety in one fell swoop. Let's face it, sampling beers from over 80 breweries while listening to live music and noshing on bites from local restaurants isn't the worst way to spend your Saturday. Undertaking those activities while fighting cancer pretty much makes you a superhero. If you have charitable aspirations to run a marathon to fight breast cancer but 12oz curls are more your speed, then check out Breastfest at Fort Mason.

Beer of the Week: Boulevard Saison Brett

Sponsored by the Marin Brewing and Moylan's family, the 13th Annual Breastfest will raise funds for the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic. The non-profit public health clinic offers free alternative medicine, support, and social services to women battling cancer and poverty. We should all drink to that (literally).

Guests have access to unlimited samples of hundreds of beers from 80+ breweries including favorites such as Russian River Brewing, Firestone Walker, Hangar 24, Heretic, Highwater, Moonlight, and much more. It's also one of your first chances to try brews from new breweries such as Headlands Brewing Co. and Santa Clara Valley brewing. Beer-friendly bites and live music from Wonderbread 5 are included. The opportunity to tell your friends and family that you're a cancer-fighting, beer swigging humanitarian is also included.

13th Annual Breastfest Beer Festival

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
