Smoking Alcohol Is the New Idiotic Boozing Trend

Posted By on Thu, May 30, 2013 at 4:30 PM

Kids these days. One minute they're simply butt-chugging alcohol in a misguided attempt to get super-drunk super-quickly, the next they're involved in an elaborate scheme involving booze and dry ice to take drunkorexia to the next level. We came across this "trend" to smoke booze in order to lose weight (you just ingest the alcohol, not the calories, you see) on the Huffington Post, via an unintentionally hilarious news report from a Fox News affiliate in which a doctor calls marijuana smoking a "fad."

The segment also reports that no alcohol treatment centers they called had ever heard of smoking booze, which shows exactly how widespread this dangerous fad has become.

However, much like the cinnamon challenge, a quick YouTube search shows that nothing will stand in the way of a stupid activity and a young person with a smartphone. Though dry ice seems a little too high-tech for many, who are smoking their liquor equipped with nothing but a two-liter plastic bottle, a bicycle pump, and a cork. We're not really sure how it works, and suspect that the fact that we find smoking Veuve Clicquot to be a waste of good champs demonstrates that we're not the right audience for it anyway.

Beyond that, we don't really have any words, just a deep, heavy sigh. And the obligatory disclaimer to please not try this at home.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
