Viral Kitchen Nightmares: The Best of The Crazy Amy Meme

Posted By on Fri, May 17, 2013 at 2:00 PM

In case you missed it, Amy's Baking Company of Scottsdale, AZ became the most famous new restaurant of the week after Gordon Ramsay failed to help rehabilitate it on the television series Kitchen Nightmares and a subsequent Facebook flame war, later denied as hackery, placed the proprietors squarely against the ruthless army that is Reddit. The restaurant is now closed and planning an ill-advised "grand re-opening," for which patrons have been screened in advanced by a publicity team.

If you haven't seen the episode yet, you can view it after the jump. It'll give context to the many "Crazy Amy" memes that have popped up this week to poke fun at restaurant owner Amy Bouzaglo (who says in the episode that people call her "Crazy Amy B"), the best of which we've collected up here.

Most people participating in this meme favor the above picture, for which this might be the most apt caption. Her eyeballs do seem paralyzed with vitriol throughout the course of Kitchen Nightmares.

This chef shows throughout the episode that she doesn't take to criticism very well, saying at one point that she's made a customer's food extra spicy because he complained. And when Ramsay thinks his pizza dough is too raw, her solution is extreme.

As one waitress tells Ramsay that the owners keep her tips, another is fired for supposedly talking back. Amy's husband eventually admits that they've been through 100 employees in a year.

The waitress dismissed on camera is later called a "poisonous little viper." Amy's frequent references to God have also made support messages by the notoriously hateful Westboro Baptist Church a popular strain of this virus.

Amy and her husband Samy have three children in the form of cats, and Amy insists she can speak their kitty language. Here is the first real explanation we've had for her fluency in Meowese.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
