Got Cash To Burn? La Cocina's Online Auction Has Sweet S.F. Prizes

La Cocina, the food business incubator for low-income and immigrant women entrepreneurs, is hosting its inaugural gala tonight, and to accompany it there's an online silent auction that has some tasty Bay Area-centric prizes.

You can bid on home visits, like have the chefs from A16 arrive at your door to cook an Italian meal for you and 10 friends (bidding starts at $1500), or Zare at Fly Trap chef Hoss Zare showing up to teach you how to make his signature Persian meatballs (bidding starts at $750).

There are classes, like whole hog butchery from 4505 Meats (bidding's at $283 at publish time), pickling with the Hapa Ramen folks (bidding starts at $400), and a brewing session with Magnolia's master brewer (bidding starts at $300).

There are out-of-town trips, like a farm tour and lunch at Belcampo Meat Co. (bidding starts at $800), or a vineyard tour, lunch, and tasting for four at Scribe Winery (bidding starts at $400).

The best items might be the ones that involve special privileges, like skipping the line and getting 12 sandwiches at porchetta dispensary Roli Roti (bidding starts at $300) or a reservation, dinner for four, and two bottles of wine at State Bird Provisions (very popular; at publish time bidding was around $800), and naming your own sandwich at Wise Sons Deli (bidding was at $200 at publish time).

The full list has plenty more special dinners, classes, and fun experiences at places like Flour + Water, Namu Gaji, Hi-Lo BBQ, Ichi Sushi, and more.

All proceeds benefit La Cocina, and bidders get a tax write-off on any amount that goes over the value of the prize.
