Hey, you know how baseball season just started? Well, if you want to multitask and combine the Giants' second game with a visit to a new spot before your friends, get thee to the brand new Noir Lounge in Hayes Valley. The wine bar has a movie theater theme and is in a bit of a transition thanks to a last-minute chef shuffle, but it's definitely open and pouring wine and beer (some of each on tap) while showing tonight's game on its big projection screen.

The food is also in transition, but the pop-up kitchen menu today, from Joanna Karlinsky of Sweet Jo's Chili and Biscuits, features biscuits with savory gravy or sweet toppings like Meyer lemon curd, as well as chili, mac and cheese, red beans and rice, and tater tots with rosemary and parmesan or smoked gouda.

The room itself is very moody and atmospheric, with velvet couches, dark wood, and lots of nooks for groups or private canoodling. We're looking forward to see how it evolves.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
