Waffles & Whiskey Happy Hour

When: Fri., March 29, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Rye

Cost: Waffles $5; cocktail $8

The rundown: Roving wafflemaker Chrissy's Waffles is now doing a "Waffles & Whiskey Happy Hour" every Friday night at Rye. This Friday will pair a bacon doughnut waffle with a Crimp's Buck cocktail made with rye, house-made ginger syrup, soda, and Jerry Thomas bitters. Last week the food sold out quickly, so get there early.

Truck Stop Cafe Tonight Features One of the Most Popular Death Row Meals: Fried Chicken

Truck Stop Cafe

When: Sat. March 30, 6-10 p.m.

Where: Truck

Cost: A la carte ($6-18)

The rundown: Humphry Slocombe's Jake Godby has become known for his dishes based on death row prisoners' last meals, and in honor of Easter he's serving a dinner inspired by Jesus of Nazareth's last bites. Expect fontina & haroset grilled cheese, lamb sloppy Joe French toast with feta cream, and a Seder blue plate special with matzo ball soup, brisket hash, poached eggs, horseradish, and olive oil-almond cake. Bicycle Bahn Mi

When: Mon., April 1, 5-10 p.m.

Where: Regalito Rosticeria

Cost: A la carte, or $50 tasting menu, tickets available at Eventbrite.

The rundown: Here's the third and final installment of the Saigon Soul pop-up series, a partnership between Bicycle Bahn Mi and Chef Seth Stowaway (Bar Agricole). Monday's menu will feature favorites from prior weeks, like fried chicken with Vietnamese chao, rock shrimp fried rice cake with pickled beets, and a sesame mung bean dessert with apple butter.

Waterbar Bake Sale

When: Fri, April 5, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Where: Waterbar

Cost: $5 per bag

The rundown: Celebrate the Giants' home opener with a bake sale featuring goods from award-winning pastry chef Emily Lucetti. Cookies include "Serg-eos" Sandwich Cookies (salted chocolate shortbread around an orange cream filling), Matt's Bourbon Old-Fashioned Pitcherdoodles (a snickerdoodle with the flavors of the Old-Fashioned drink), Pablo's Pecan Nib Sandies, Buster's Chocolate Chunks, and Bochy's Peanut Popcorn Clusters (caramel popcorn inspired by Cracker Jack). The pop-up will be set up on the sidewalk outside Waterbar and proceeds will benefit the charity Cookies for Kids' Cancer.

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
